Hands up who doesn’t have tight hip flexors…yep, that’s no one right?
In a not so funny irony, both people who sit a lot (pretty much most people) and people who exercise a lot, get tight hip flexors. These muscles flex the hip right, so they are shortening when your knees are bent to sit and when your knees bend to lift the leg and propel you forward.
Mind Body Green asked me to explain how we get tight hip flexors, the muscles involved and how we can lengthen them to reduce the likelihood of strain, injury and back problems.
